Abstract: Two homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in Galesburg, Michigan are looking for a new manager. This is a rare opportunity to purchase both homes for $4.5 million.

Victoria Krause Schutte of Christie's International Real Estate @properties and Fred Taber of Jaqua Realtors are the listing agents for the two Usonian-style homes.

The homes were designed for a group of pharmaceutical researchers in The Acres, a 70-acre, heavily wooded community. Like Wright's other Usonian homes, these residences feature flat roofs with overhangs, carports, fireplaces and radiant heating systems under concrete floors.

Although 21 homes were planned, only five were built, four of which were designed by Wright. The community is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Homeowners Marika Broere and Tony Hillebrandt restored both properties.

"They understand what it takes to bring these homes back to life." Says Krause Schutte, "You are true custodians of the artwork."

Brorel and Hillebrandt are the fourth owners of the Epstein home and the fifth owners of the Pratt home.

The sellers purchased the Eric and Pat Pratt Home, built in 1951, in 2021. They renovated the home, including a new roof, updated electrical and plumbing systems, and reupholstered bench seating.

The 2,200-square-foot home features two bedrooms and baths, a library/music room and outdoor deck.

The interior features mahogany trim, 10-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows. The pottery studio includes renovated space that can be used as a studio or office.

The sellers purchased the Samuel and Dorothy Epstein House, built in 1953, in 2016 and renovated it the following year.

The 2,250-square-foot home features three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The home also features mahogany interiors.

There are three decks and two living rooms (both with fireplaces). A 10-foot wall of floor-to-ceiling glass leads to one of the terraces.

Who would buy one of these beautiful homes?

It's going to be a (Frank Lloyd Wright) enthusiast, or someone who wants a stunning getaway, says Klaus Schutte.

These two agents are taking a global marketing approach.

"I'd be shocked if someone bought one of these homes within a two-hour drive of here," Taber said.

"The purchasers would be from other countries - Canada, Japan or Dubai - or other states, most likely Washington, California, Texas, Florida or New York."

Epstein House's most recent operation is a short-term rental.

They make up to $157,000 a year, Taber said." Airbnbs has the potential to make more than $290,000 a year in these homes. You can use them for weddings and personal accommodations.

Corporate and branded photo shoots also take place at Epstein House.

"This is a very, very rare acquisition," Taber said of the adjoining Wright residence.

This has never happened before. If someone is interested in creating a family compound or a really special place, this is it.

Galesburg is an hour south of Grand Rapids, which is home to Wright's Meyer-May House, and an hour from the Lake Michigan resort of South Haven.
