Abstract: For much of 2023, the fashion world has been infatuated with the low-key luxury movement. Characterized by a minimalist, quality-over-quantity spirit, quiet luxury is all about embracing timeless design with a strong point of view and prioritizing good craftsmanship.

Interior design trends are often influenced by fashion "in," so we're not surprised to see Instagram filled with examples of quiet luxury. This week, we're focusing on the living room -- a notoriously chaotic area of the home that arguably needs quiet luxury the most.

So whether you're new to this subtle and influential design movement, or looking for ideas to improve the elegant interior design you've been curating for years, this week's roundup has something for everyone. Here are five living room looks to boost your home bass.

1. Texture wall art

We all love a dramatic wall finish, especially when it works with (rather than competing with) the rest of the space. The artwork, seen in @homebymaddy's post, strikes the perfect balance.

"Textured wall art adds tactile and visual pleasure to the space, contrasting it with the clean lines and smooth surfaces common in modern interior design," says Liam Davis, interior expert and visual curator. "The combination of texture and simplicity creates a sense of balance and harmony that is essential for a relaxed living room."

2. Ceramic vases

When it comes to creating a simple yet thought-provoking space, this post by @theblossomshome captures the vibe perfectly. We were particularly attracted by the texture of the ceramic vase.

"A ceramic vase can be a great focal point," says Katie Colormaiden, designer of EmbodyArt. "The curves add to the overall sense of flow and the natural texture is consistent with the current sustainability. Ceramics can last for decades and are a great way to bring art into your home."

3. An all-inclusive basket

If you need one thing to help organize the odds and end of your living room, then you'll love this all-purpose basket that @brookemoraleshome saw in the thread.

"Not only does the basket add a practical element to the space, but it also serves as a decorative element," Davis said. "One of the main reasons all-purpose baskets work so well in a living room is that they provide a sense of warmth and texture that is difficult to achieve with other design elements."

Do it: Add some texture to your living room with a woven tray.

4. Cork coffee table

For a little more focus, consider this unconventional cork coffee table from @decospace.de.

Lightweight, durable, and easy to move to any corner of the living room, tables like these will soon become your new favorite.

"One of the main reasons cork coffee tables work so well in the living room is their versatility," Davis says. "Whether your living room is sleek, minimalist and modern, or a more traditional space, a cork coffee table is a fantastic addition."

5. Irregularly shaped mirrors

We all know that well-placed mirrors have the magical power to define space, but there's something special about this irregularly shaped mirror seen in @homebymaddy's home.

"The irregular mirror - or speckled mirror - is an interesting twist on the squares, rectangles and circles we're used to," Colormaiden says. "Organic shapes work well with natural textures and anything that changes the way we normally do things or see things will have a huge impact on our lives."
